In February 2008, Waha Capital was launched to build upon a solid foundation and begin a new chapter in its history. The 11-year-old Oasis International Leasing Company gained a new name, a new brand, and a new vision, mission and strategy, to match its transformation from a solid-performing, single-sector leasing company of big-ticket assets, into a diversified investment holding company.

As an Abu Dhabi-based company, we are excited and driven by what is happening here and by being part of it. We believe we can contribute to the realization of the emirate’s economic vision by focusing on sectors that have been prioritized for development. Accordingly, we operate in aircraft and big-ticket leasing, land development, maritime and financial services.

We seek to expand through acquisitions, organic growth and the launch of new businesses, either alone or in partnership with leading regional or global firms. At the heart of this operation is a team of highly qualified professionals from around the world, each of whom was chosen for their commitment to excellence and dedication to making Waha Capital the best in its industry.

During the course of 2008, the region went from a mood of tremendous exuberance to one of great caution. However, we at Waha Capital see

the current period of financial market volatility and uncertainty as reinforcing the wisdom of our strategy that calls for diversification with a local focus.
