Overview

WFI seeks to create a portfolio of market-leading regional investment banking and financial services entities through a strategy of acquisitions and joint ventures. In addition to its core activities, WFI pursues other opportunistic investments that support Waha Capital’s, as well as the Abu Dhabi Government’s, objectives and strategy of diversification.

Strong fundamentals are driving demand for specialist banking services in the GCC. This

includes enormous wealth accumulation in the Middle East that in mid-2008 was estimated at $4 trillion; more than $1 trillion in government-led infrastructure spending; and projected oil revenues of more than $6 trillion by 2022 (at $70/barrel). This is further enhanced by rapidly liberalizing and increasingly sophisticated capital markets that are generating demand from both issuers and investors.
